LA MENTIRA is a tense six‑part British drama thriller set in the seemingly idyllic Oxfordshire village of Craggily, where corruption, fear and buried secrets quietly shape everyday life. After a holiday to Spain, City worker Richard Warner becomes fixated on the strange behaviour he witnessed around a charismatic figure named Ricardo — an obsession that follows him home and begins to unravel his life.

Convinced the same hidden network exists within Craggily, Richard starts asking questions about the unsolved murder of Raj, a local shopkeeper whose death was never fully explained. As he digs deeper, he uncovers a village held together not by innocence, but by silence — a web of favours, intimidation and quiet loyalties involving respected locals like pub landlord Andy and estate agent Chris, both trapped inside something far larger than themselves.

Richard’s investigation fractures friendships, attracts anonymous threats and pushes his marriage to breaking point. Even those who try to help him understand that exposing the truth may destroy everyone involved. The series builds toward a tense confrontation at Cadman’s Pool, where a covert exchange reveals part of the criminal network — but not the whole story. Ricardo vanishes, answers remain incomplete, and Richard learns that understanding corruption is not the same as proving it.

Atmospheric, unsettling and grounded in realism, LA MENTIRA explores paranoia, complicity and the cost of refusing to look away from the truth.
